BathHouse Journal 25:
Surveying the Border

Submissions close February 20, 2024.

Call for Submissions:

BathHouse Journal is seeking creative work for its forthcoming, twenty-fifth issue.

Intersectional artists Gloria Anzaldúa, Audre Lorde, Guillermo Gómez Peña, Daniel Borzutzky, and others of their generations, famously explored and challenged our notions of borders. They have helped give rise to this age in which so many are bravely challenging the ideas of borders in their daily lives. As they do so, however, we see powerful interests working harder than ever to fortify old borders, and to create new ones.

BHJ Issue 25 is seeking artists who are responding to this moment, interrogating our current notions of the border: political, cultural, psychological, linguistic, physical, sexual, gendered.

How do borders define and challenge us? How and why do we create/destroy/cross/rebel against borders? How do form and presentation of the artistic work reflect and challenge our notions of borders?

All submissions should be emailed to BathHouseJournalSubmissions@gmail.com. You may include a short bio if you wish.
